Brian qualified as a solicitor in 1984, having trained in local government. Brian then spent nine years working for large London firms before moving to Wortley Byers, where he previously headed up the Commercial Property, Planning and Environmental Department. Brian specialises in commercial property work and also practices in the area of planning law.

Brian is listed as a legal expert specialising in Commercial Property in the Legal Experts Directory 2009.

In addition to Brian's law degrees and qualification as a solicitor, he is a Legal Associate of the Royal Town Planning Institute and he is also a Notary Public. Although not quite fluent in the language, Brian has a good grasp of French and he is also attempting to master (Brazilian) Portuguese.
