Michael Callaghan
Partner Michael Callaghan joined Wortley Byers LLP from another Essex practice in February 2008. Previously he had practiced at Hammonds, a major national firm, as a property litigation specialist, having trained with Norton Rose in the City. He has established a strong reputation among both clients and professional contacts as a highly experienced and effective adviser. He has a diploma in landlord and tenant law and has qualified as an Accredited Mediator with both CEDR (2002) and the ADR Group (2001). He is serving as Treasurer of the Mid-Essex Law Society.

Michael has been involved in all aspects of landlord and tenant disputes over commercial and residential properties such as dilapidations claims and rent reviews. The majority of his workload involves advising landlords, tenants and their professional advisers on their rights and liabilities in contentious property cases.

In addition Michael conducts general commercial litigation, in particular contract and commercial disputes. Michael also has experience of planning law.
