With the 2017 Essex Business Excellence Awards officially launched, the countdown is on for the main event which takes place in November. Throughout the six month lead up to the main event, we will be putting the spotlight on the headline and category sponsors who have generously placed their backing behind these awards.
The first company to jump on board is law firm Wortley Byers Law who are reprising their headline sponsor status for the fourth year. The firm brings great prestige to the business community of Essex, having been recommended by the Legal 500 for excellence in the areas of corporate and commercial law, commercial property, commercial litigation, employment, family law, personal tax, trusts and probate, planning and intellectual property. Legal 500 praised the firm for their “experience, energy and commitment and being consistently excellent in terms of advice, commerciality and value for money”.
2017 also marks the firm’s 50th anniversary, a milestone moment which celebrates five decades of delivering unparalleled service to the region.
Full of praise for the awards, Jane Winfield, Commercial Property Partner and Head of Business Development at Wortley Byers Law, explained the firm’s association with the awards, and why they have once again made the decision to become headline sponsors. “Each year the standard of the businesses that enter the awards increases. We at Wortley Byers Law are very keen to put successful businesses ‘on the map’ and likewise as a quality provider of legal services for business across Essex and the remainder of the country. We are proud of the association and equally welcome the opportunity to be put ‘on the map’ with these successful businesses. Being a headline sponsor is an indication of how seriously we take the judging process and how highly we view the prestige attached to the awards themselves.”
Whether it is as a finalist, sponsor or even as a guest, it is impossible to ignore the benefits that come with being associated with these awards. Jane identified the key opportunities the awards bring for the firm, “Wortley Byers Law is very keen to support Essex businesses and being involved with the awards means that we get to meet some fantastic people and teams who represent the very best of what Essex has to offer.”
She continued saying, “Being associated with such businesses is perfect for Wortley Byers Law as we provide quality legal services, to all sizes of businesses at London standards of service, but not at London rates. Wortley Byers Law is the hidden gem of Essex and we have always been very proud to be associated with the business awards because of the calibre of entrants it always attracts.”
Wortley Byers Law has held a presence in Essex since 1967 and so when asked what makes Essex an attractive region for businesses to settle, Jane was confident in the region’s key assets.
“Essex is unique in its proximity not only to London and major ports but also the infrastructure connecting these areas to the remainder of the country. Our county is home to world-class technology companies, research parks, knowledge workers and university research capabilities. The potential for growth is limitless. Further growth is expected with the Crossrail and broadband initiatives.”To conclude Jane shared details of what is on the cards for the business during the remainder of their anniversary year, “This year is a very important one for Wortley Byers. Since l967 Wortley Byers (in a slightly different format at that time!) has been providing private client and business services to clients in Essex and across the country. Our focus on maintaining exceptionally high standards of client service delivery remain constant. In line with our strategy, 2017 will see us taking on more legal staff and new clients in Essex and beyond. We will also be holding a 50th anniversary celebratory event for selected clients to celebrate the fact that not only are we exceptional lawyers but we are also very down to earth, fun people!”
